About Fontmell Magna

A picturesque village in the county of Dorset, situated between the historic market towns of Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum. The village has a church which in 1905 was described as "one of the handsomest in Dorsetshire" by the prominent British surgeon Frederick Treves.
There is pre-Roman archaeological evidence and the village was mentioned in the Doomsday book.
